Message	drop is not a major concern and as such, they can use a thicker core. I'm sure there are also reasons why they offer certain cores. To say they are contradicting themselves is really stretching it in my opinion. If you think defending quality shops and site sponsors with proven records makes him a whore, then you are the ones with the problem.
